Who runs this site

Clyde Flip (clydeflip.co.uk) is run by Clyde Select, a sole trader business based in Shawlands, Glasgow, Scotland. The contact person is Ferdaos Nangarhari. To get in touch, please use our contact form.

Our tools and guides are estimates, not advice

• The calculator, worked examples, transport estimates, LEZ checks and fee figures are estimates for guidance only. Auction fees, VAT treatment, transport prices and rules can change without notice, and your invoice or quote is what counts.
• Nothing on this site is financial, legal, tax, insurance or mechanical advice. Always check the auction's own fee page, inspect the vehicle and its paperwork, and get professional advice where you need it.
• Worked examples are illustrative calculations based on stated assumptions. They are not real vehicles or sales and are not a promise of profit. Buying and selling cars can lose money.

Free car check

The free car check shows information from public and official sources (such as DVSA MOT and recall data, the DVLA number plate format and the US NHTSA VIN decoder). We pass it on as received and can't guarantee it's complete, accurate or up to date. It doesn't show outstanding finance, stolen markers or insurance write-off history. Use the official services we link to, and a paid history check, before you buy.

Links to other websites

We link to official sites, auction houses, recovery firms and vehicle history check providers. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, services or prices. Some links to vehicle history check providers are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you (see our affiliate disclosure). Any purchase you make is a contract between you and that provider.

Business listings

Recovery and transport firms listed on our yard pages are listed free. Directory entries we've added from firms' own websites are marked as unpaid and not endorsed. We don't vet, recommend or take commission from any listed firm. Agree prices and check insurance with the firm directly. If you submit a listing, you confirm you're allowed to and that the details are accurate, and we may edit, decline or remove listings.

Using the site fairly

Please don't misuse the site: no attempts to break or overload it, scrape it in bulk, or send spam or unlawful content through our forms. We may block access that does.

Our content

The text, guides, calculator and design are © Clyde Flip / Clyde Select unless stated otherwise. You're welcome to link to any page and share short quotes with a link back. Public sector information is used under the Open Government Licence v3.0 where stated.

Our liability

We work hard to keep the site accurate but provide it "as is", free of charge. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for losses arising from using or relying on the site, including bids, purchases or sales you make. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the date below shows the latest version. These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
